Floodlight systems for your sports pitch: LED floodlighting from calculation to delivery
A floodlight system consists of floodlights, masts and control. How much light your pitch needs depends on the sport and the level of play: for football, DIN EN 12193 gives at least 75 lx for training, for example. DeinFlutlicht supplies LED floodlighting to clubs, municipalities and operators and calculates the lighting with real luminaire data.

What a floodlight system includes

How much light a sports pitch needs
The benchmark for sports pitch lighting is DIN EN 12193. For football it gives 75 lx in Class III, 200 lx in Class II and 500 lx in Class I. Hockey needs more light because of the small ball. Leagues and federations can require higher values.
LED floodlights
The STL963 suits smaller facilities and pitches with few masts, the STL1443 larger pitches and the STL1500 high requirements from around 500 lx. All are available in 3000 K, 4000 K and 5000 K.
Floodlight masts: height and existing masts
The floodlighting guide of the football associations of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia recommends 16 m for training and 18 to 20 m for competition facilities. The exact height follows from the lighting design.
We also supply floodlight masts. Existing masts can often continue to be used if structure and load capacity are adequate. You provide and are responsible for the details of your masts. We only check structural stability during an on-site visit.
Control
With scenes, training does not run at full power. Partial areas can be switched separately, and time schedules switch the system as planned.
Neighbours and permits
The benchmark for light immissions in Germany is the LAI guidance. In residential areas, the guide value for brightening at the window is 3 lx until 10 pm and 1 lx after that. Clarify this and any building permit with the authority early, before the mast positions are fixed.
Funding
In Germany, sports clubs turn to the programmes of their state and state sports federation, and municipalities to the federal Kommunalrichtlinie. Only the funding body decides whether funding is granted.
